I'm Matt Rothenberg, a New York City-based designer, developer, and serial tinkerer.
I like my coffee strong, my side projects unfinished, and my photos sharp.

I work at Cloudflare as a Principal Engineer building our AI platform and design system.
I used to work at GitHub Next where I explored the future of software development. I shipped some big hits like Copilot and GitHub Blocks.
I also worked at Clearbit where I built their core design system.
Before that, I was at Heroku working on web and CLI interfaces for data products.
A recent highlight of my career was helping the UNDP build their Digital Development Compass, a quick way to get detailed information on digital readiness in any country.
I've contributed to (and also maintain) some cool open source projects.
I've worked with some great companies as a freelancer and advisor, helping them ship marketing sites, shape design systems, and explore new product ideas.
I write about web development, design systems, and the tools that make building for the web better. I'd love to come on your podcast, speak at your conference, or write for your publication.
